III House_Questo piccolo edificio si trova in una zona residenziale sulle sponde del Lago Dianshan, il suo stile si differenzia dalle case del circondario. Il primo piano è adibito a studio e cucina, mentre tre unità individuali occupano il secondo piano.. Le quattro pareti al primo piano delimitano l’ambiente, anche se sembrano aprirsi all’esterno, e le quattro al secondo piano danno direttamente sul lago.
I muri creano come una cortina naturale, la natura penetra nell’ambiente interno, favorendone così la proiezione al di fuori della casa, secondo un’idea orientale di cortile e cortina muraria.

The little building lies in a residential area where is on the shore of Dianshan Lake, it’s style is quite different from the houses around. The first floor of the building is the public studio and kitchen while three individual living units on the second floor. The four walls on the first floor also define limited views though they look open, and the four walls on the second floor leads to a fine view of Dianshan Lake. The walls also form courtyards naturally, the yards infiltrate into themselves one another or extend outside, and they look like the traditional Chinese courtyards and dooryards.

Children’s Garden of Qingpu New District, Shanghai

Il sito è ubicato fra un fiume e una sopraelevata a scorrimento veloce. Non è proprio un luogo adatto ai bambini dato il contesto.

Idea di partenza:

Come un container

1) Ha una propria interfaccia
2) Definisce un interno e un esterno
3) Ha ambienti interni protetti dall’esterno, che invece viene filtrato all’interno a seconda delle esigenze
4) è il luogo in cui si avvicendano spazi differenti, varie attività e comportamenti.

Come giardino d’infanzia tradizionale

1) Un tipico giardino d’infanzia in Cina è un container
2) L’esterno sovente non corrisponde direttamente allo spazio interno
3) Gli ambienti interni nei giardini d’infanzia cinesi non corrispondono direttamente alle funzioni ivi svolte.
4) L’organizzazione degli spazi è flessibile e generica.

The site is between a river and an elevated expressway and is very narrow.
It is not a very proper plot for the children’s garden because of the environment.

Basic idea:

As a container

1) Container has closed interface
2) Container creates the inner and the outer
3) Inner fields of the Container are protected while it’s outer environment is filtered according to need
4) Container is a place where full of various kinds of spaces, activities and behavior

As a traditional Chinese Garden

1) Traditional Chinese Garden is one kind of container
2) The external appearance of traditional Chinese Garden is not correspond to it’s interior spaces lineally
3) The interior spaces of traditional Chinese Garden are not correspond to it’s functions lineally
4) The order of interior spaces of traditional Chinese Garden is open, flexible and vague

“Long Island” Residential Area near the Qiantang River

Il sito si colloca in un nuovo quartiere vicino al fiume Qiantang River, Hangzhou, lontano dal centro cittadino. Offre viste spettacolari sul fiume e sulle circostanti Montagne Wuyun e sulla Pagoda Liuhe.
L’organizzazione generale e il progetto degli appartamenti si basano sulle visuali. Allo stesso tempo, rispettando la richiesta del committente di una sporgenza massima di 3.6. Come soluzione sono stati progettati sei volumi differenti , con la medesima altezza, per contrastare l’enorme mole dell’edificio, creando un equilibrio fra le luce naturale, il verde, il paesaggio e la struttura inserita nel tessuto urbano. Seguendo uno sviluppo lineare secondo due direzioni principali, più unità residenziali affacciano sul fiume, rappresentando elementi godibili dal quartiere e dalla città intorno.

La forma architettonica è sintomatica della confusione derivata dalla grande scala del progetto. Unità abitative congestionate caratterizzano il prospetto, con elementi a sbalzo che testimoniano la capienza dell’edificio.

The plot locates in a new district near the Qiantang River in Hangzhou, far away from the downtown area. It offers views across the water towards the Wuyun Mountain and the Liuhe Pagoda.
The general organization and the design of the apartments are based on the vistas. At the same time, the high Far of this project required by the client is 3.6, and it also can’t be neglected. As a result, five high-rises are designed in same height and different volume to fulfill the enormous building area, balancing in sunlight, green space, landscape and the overall structure of the plot in the urban texture. With the linear arrangement in two directions, more residential units can enjoy the vista of the river and active spaces are created for the very district as well as the city area around.

The architectural form indicates explicitly the confusion brought directly by the massive capacity required. Dense dwelling units compose an even facade with many volumes bulging out from the surface to show the developer’s great interest in the capacity.
